This notice explains how MX Watches handles your personal data under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

When you place an order we collect your name, billing address, shipping address, email, phone number, and order history. We do not receive your full card number — that goes directly to our payment processor, Stripe.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

• To fulfil your order (contract) — name, address, payment confirmation.
• To meet legal obligations — tax records (HMRC: 6 years for VAT, 7 years for company accounts).
• Legitimate interest — fraud prevention, replying to your enquiries, system logging.

Who we share it with

• Stripe — payment processing (US-based; UK/EU adequacy decision applies).
• Royal Mail / our shipping carrier — name and address for delivery.
• HMRC and our accountant — where legally required.

We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.

How long we keep it

Order and accounting records: 7 years (UK tax law). Marketing email signup (if you opt in): until you unsubscribe. Browsing/analytics logs: 30 days.

Your rights

You can request access to your data, ask us to correct or delete it (subject to our legal retention duties), object to processing based on legitimate interest, request a copy in a portable format, or withdraw any consent you’ve given. Email hello@mxwatches.co.uk and we’ll respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

We use a small number of essential cookies (cart, login, checkout). No tracking or advertising cookies are set unless you opt in.
